RunReading Half Marathon was first run in September 2020 as a Covid-19 safe event, following the success of the concept and the amazing feedback about the route we are keeping many of the aspects of the run that people enjoyed. For those who have not taken part before, the starts are staggered to space people out but you can opt to start with friends. The stagger in 2021 will be reduced so everyone will start over the course of an hour with roughly 10 people per minute leaving our race village start line. The event has a very different feel to normal races, you will find it very relaxed and fellow runners very supportive.
Runners are expected to self support, there is one top up station at roughly half way. The route is way-marked and has marshals at key points. All runners are chipped and results are published shortly after the run. Medical support is provided around the route. Parking is next to the race village so it’s easy to leave everything in the car. If Covid-19 is still an issue at the time of the run we already have the safety measures in place to ensure we can go ahead. All runners receive one of our lovely bespoke RunReading medals.
