RunReading Half Marathon was first run in September 2020 as a Covid-19 safe event, following the success of the concept and amazing feedback we are now adding the RunReading Goring Gap Marathon to the schedule. The route is incredibly scenic using riverside trails and passing through the beautiful villages of Whitchurch on Thames, Goring on Thames, Streatley, North Stoke & South Stoke. The start is staggered, runners start over the course of an hour with roughly 10 people per minute leaving our race village start line. The event has a very different feel to normal races, you will find it very relaxed and fellow runners very supportive. There is no time limit so an ideal event for first time marathon runners.
There are support top up stations and check points along the route. The route is way-marked and has marshals at key points. All runners are chipped and results are published shortly after the run. Medical support is provided around the route. Parking is next to the race village so it’s easy to leave everything in the car. If Covid-19 is still an issue at the time of the run we already have the safety measures in place to ensure we can go ahead. All runners receive one of our lovely bespoke Goring Gap Run medals.
